Last year Mooloolah River Landcare went on a Catchment Crawl, with a bus carrying people from the top of the catchment to the Mooloolah River mouth.
This year we are going to slow the pace a little, and take a relaxed look at the lower part of the Mooloolah River with Blue Water Kayak Tour, lead by Dean Haspel.
Dean is a Mooloolah Valley local and has been paddling the local waterways for many years. Dean assures us that most fitness levels are suited to using the kayaks. As there will be 2 or more guides, if some people feel the urge to test how fast/far they can paddle, a group can easily split off, while the rest can take in the river at a more leisurely pace.
There will be at least two stops along the way, for refreshments and Lunch. Food is provided.
Only MRWL members are being invited until Monday 28th May; when invitations to public will be offered for any remaining positions. The cost is $20, which includes food and drinks at meal stops. All participants must have their booking paid by Tuesday 6th June. It would be sad to have vacancies on the day so if you haven’t paid (or explained your position) we will offer the place to other interested people.
Mooloolah Native Nursery is located on the Holcim Site, Steve Irwin Way, Glenview. Come and see our large range of native plants covering rainforest, wallum, wetlands and coastal. We are open Monday to Wednesday 8am - 4pm.
